Smarticipate was recently invited to attend a workshop organised by the EU-funded WeLive project, which brought together various projects related to citizen participation and designing co-creation approaches. Held in Bilbao on 21 September, smarticipate was represented by project coordinator Joachim Rix (Fraunhofer-IGD).
The aim of the workshop was to discuss the experiences stemming from European projects in the field – among them OPEN MAKER, CITADEL, and CLARITY – and to describe how co-creation could be made more sustainable.
The WeLive project aims to bridge the gap between innovation and adoption of open government services by empowering citizens and businesses to directly participate in the design, creation, selection and delivery of public services in the form of mobile apps.
