The smarticipate consortium had an eventful week in London, with both a consortium meeting and a series of events surrounding the trial of the smarticipate platform.
At the Smart Implementer Summit, a group of interested friends of the project, dubbed “Smart Implementers”, met to discuss their own challenges and possible solutions that are offered based on the smarticipate platform. The group identified a few key points of potential collaboration, including the participatory planning of new electric vehicle charging points, urban gardens, bicycle racks and other infrastructure.
Following the smart implementer, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea welcomed residents of the borough to its second Smartathon. During the afternoon event, residents had the chance to test the prototype version of the smarticipate platform. The application developed specifically for London included a 3D model of the newly-built design museum. This could, for example, be applied to future building sites to gather residents’ feedback on construction plans.
